Gray Press co-founder Nicole DePolo hails from the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania, She headed west to Seattle shortly after graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration in 1991.

Nicole has designed posters, promotions and printed materials for The Seattle Poetry Festival and its book anthology "Vox Populi," The Seattle Neighborhood Arts Celebration, and Eleventh Hour Productions. She has also created original clip art for Microsoft before going on to collaborate with Seattle's own DTN Productions to produce the Cops of The WTO Wall Calendar 2000, a graphic reflection on the WTO conference of 1999 in Seattle.

A storyteller in both words and images, Nicole brings her visual narratives to The Gray Press in the form of comic art, illustration, and handmade books.
